- The BSMDHS prides itself on attracting world class speakers to its regular workshops. In fact on the 31st January-1st February 2009 the society is hosting a weekend workshop with renowned NLP expert Charles Faulkner at Dunblane Hydro. A prolific innovator, Charles has pioneered methods for accelerated language learning, as well as medical and financial decision-making. He is particularly well-known for his work with futures traders and his research on the role of "metaphor" in communication and behaviour. This meeting will be open to all dentists and doctors as it will be of great benefit to both those experienced in, and also those without any previous training or experience in hypnosis or NLP. Aims and Objectives of the British Society of Medical and Dental Hypnosis (Scotland).
To encourage and promote excellence in the use of Hypnosis by registered Medical and Dental practitioners; to advance scientific research, education and standards of practice in Hypnosis; and to advise others about the value, application, and ethical use of Hypnosis.
For what is Hypnosis used?
Hypnosis has been successfully used to alleviate problems from the time of pre-history and is one of the oldest of medical treatments. Whilst other therapies have come and gone, hypnosis has withstood the test of time, and remains as powerful and as useful a treatment as it was then.
Trained medical and dental hypnotherapists can help you to deal with a large variety of problems e.g.
